This painting is a symphony of layers and textures that intertwine in a kaleidoscopic display of color and form. It is the result of a distinctive method that I use in the Decollage and Painting series, which celebrates a sort of visual alchemy. This process is a sequence of construction, destruction and reconstruction, a narrative of creative metamorphosis.
Made on a panel, the foundation of the work is composed of a collage of layers of paper, such as magazine pages and more. The use of a spatula and sandpaper allowed me to reveal hidden parts of these layers, with a collage that reveals the story beneath the surface. This process of removal is as much a part of the work as the addition of material, offering a dimension of both literal and metaphorical depth.
As the work continued, I intervened with graphic signs and paint to enhance and define the shapes that emerged during this process. This gave rise to a labyrinth of lines and figures, where the elements of collage, collage and painting converge in a visual dialogue.
I consider the creative process a fundamental aspect of the work itself, letting shapes and textures emerge organically and spontaneously. This work, therefore, becomes a hymn to the beauty of imperfection and the nobility of change, underlining how the constant flow of creation, destruction and reconstruction is a source of beauty and inspiration. In the context of this painting, every mark and shade is a tribute to the ability of nature and humanity to adapt and transform, a visual celebration of the eternal cycle of renewal.
