Friday 7 June 2024 at 6.00 pm opens at the Museo dei Campionissimi in Novi Ligure, AL. the collective photographic exhibition “The Metaphysics of Black and White”.
This exhibition conceived by the association Arte and Cuisine aps, initially displayed for 6 months at the Fortress of Gavi, with the collaboration of the Piedmont Regional Museums Directorate and the Directorate of the Fortress of Gavi, arrives at the Museum of the Campionissimi , organized by the Museum of the Campionissimi in the person of Chiara Vignola and will remain open to visitors until September 15, 2024.
In this exhibition I am exhibiting a project entitled “Details Revealed” in which the photographs are displayed as if they were paintings.
The project is a series of photographs that explore the beauty and importance of details that often go unnoticed. These photographs are characterized by my painterly eye, as if the photographs were paintings. Sometimes I focus on a particular detail, like a texture or shape, capturing images that look like abstract paintings. On other occasions, however, I focus on many details as a whole, creating images that tell a more complex story.
In any case, my photographs demonstrate how a seemingly insignificant detail can acquire new meaning when brought to the foreground. With this project he invites us to look beyond the surface of things and discover the beauty hidden in the details that surround us every day. The detail separated from the context is like a word, which, separated from the sentence, seems to lose its meaning, in reality what remains is the sound, and then the meaning is no longer a rational concept but a sensation, the essence of what is, a musical note. The choice of black and white emphasizes the composition of shapes and lines, contrasts and textures.
The photographs are presented in medium and small format, in a single composition as if the entire composition itself were a painting.
