Contemplating the Wait

New Ways 46x55cm

I am deeply grateful for having what is called a “green thumb” – for me, it is quite a natural thing: any seed I put in the soil, grows into a plant. Observing plants and their ability to adapt amazes me every time. I love the energy that is created when I take care of them, especially after watering them. There is an atmosphere of serenity that pervades the environment and I relax, contemplating this energy. It is probably mutual love.

The Contemplation of Waiting in Art

I feel the same sensation when I work on my paintings with liquid colors, letting the stains dry on their own. I love observing how they transform, how the water takes shape depending on the surrounding energy. In fact, water has the ability to collect information from the environment, and the stains that come from it are charged with a strong component of unpredictability. The more I let go of control, the more interesting the game becomes and the result surprising.

According to the memory of water – a property studied by the Japanese Masaru Emoto – water keeps a trace of the substances and energy it comes into contact with. Homeopathic remedies derive from this discovery, but I go further, stating that it also absorbs the emotional energies of the surrounding environment. Therefore: me + water = manifestation of forms. Water becomes a channel that transports the essence of what I feel, beyond the mind, and allows artistic expression to reveal itself.

Freedom in Letting Go of Expectations

This philosophy is also reflected in my relationship with the concept of expectation. Contemplating expectation is living in the moment, quite different from having expectations, which instead means living projected into the future. Many people remain slaves to expectations – their own or others – suffering until they manage to free themselves from them. When you let go of expectations, you find peace. If you can say to yourself a good “who cares” and let go of everything, you will discover an inner space that is open, and there emerges something unexpected: an idea, an intuition, or even a small illumination. It is a moment of authenticity that goes beyond the rational, a deep connection with your soul.

Art as Carpe Diem

By observing the forms that spontaneously manifest, I also reflect on my life. I see a pattern where events and opportunities come naturally, without an active search. Even in my approach to painting, I value what emerges spontaneously rather than trying to dominate the medium. My paintings embody the idea of “carpe diem”: I live and accept every moment and every form that life offers me.

Abstract Faces and the Allure of Ink

These abstract faces, made with ink, embody a fundamental aspect of my artistic process: the idea that every stroke, every stain, is the result of an instant of authenticity. Ink is a material that I love for its immediacy and for the intensity with which it manages to capture the essence of emotions, often through a few gestures and fluid strokes. In these faces, each sign reveals itself spontaneously, as if it were emerging from an inner mystery that I myself contemplate during creation.

Ink and Voids
Looking Deep

When I create these faces, I let the ink lead, with its fluidity and unpredictability. The figures that emerge do not have a predetermined subject; instead, they become mirrors of the universal emotions and human nuances that I recognize within myself. Ink allows me to express intensity and mystery, making each face a question mark: who is this figure? What is it feeling? What is its story?

These portraits are available in my shop, each one unique in its kind, as a testimony of the union between control and abandon, between intention and chance. It is not the final result that matters, but having lived the moment of creation, a moment of pure connection between hand, ink and paper lined on canvas.

Let the Expression Flow

With liquid colors, I let the shapes create themselves, feeling like a channel that allows energy to take shape. For me, the process is an instinctive and authentic expression, where each shape that emerges represents an aspect of me, and of life, captured in the moment. Ultimately, it is not the final result that counts, but having lived the process with joy.
