St Germain

Mixed media on wood · 100 × 100 cm · 2016
St Germain is a co-created work emerging from a shared painterly process between Ilaria Berenice and Paolo Amoretti.
The face — developed primarily by Ilaria Berenice — appears as a central presence, gradually surfacing from a layered and dynamic chromatic field. The background, shaped through a collaborative exchange, carries a strong resonance with Paolo Amoretti’s abstract language, particularly in the use of primary colors such as red and blue, which generate a vibrant and expansive pictorial space.
During the process, the figure revealed itself as an embodiment of Adamus St Germain — an archetypal presence associated with transformation, consciousness, and inner alchemy. From this recognition, the work takes its title, positioning itself between figuration and symbolic perception.
The painting unfolds as a field of tension and emergence, where gestures, color, and presence converge. The figure does not assert itself as a portrait, but as a threshold — a point of passage between the visible and the unseen.
Co-created with Paolo Amoretti.
