Art is not representation. It is presence taking form.
Ilaria Berenice is a contemporary Italian artist exploring the space where matter, memory, and consciousness converge.
Through painting, collage, and mixed media, she creates works that emerge as living presences — suspended between abstraction and inner landscapes.

Statement
My work explores the emergence of presence through matter, structure, and transformation.
Working with painting, collage, and décollage, I explore abstract faces, inner landscapes, and evolving forms shaped by memory and transformation.
Each work is not conceived as an image, but as a field where form, memory, and consciousness gradually emerge.
My works are not decorative objects, but presences that unfold over time within the lives of collectors.
Biography
Her artistic journey has crossed geographical and cultural boundaries. After studying anthropology and music, she lived for four years in Spain and three in Brazil, where she began painting as a self-taught artist.
After returning to Italy, her style evolved: she combined figuration and abstraction, collage and recycled materials, portraiture and expressionism. She took advanced courses at the Scuola degli Artefici and the Scuola del Nudo within the Brera Academy, as well as attending the Scuola del Castello in Milan.
Today, her works are part of international private collections and have been exhibited in museums, galleries, and cultural institutions.
Her works have been documented in numerous art catalogues and magazines, reflecting the evolution of her artistic research.
Her works are held in private collections in Italy, the United States, and Canada, including those of designer Gabriella Crespi and actor Roy Dupuis.
Her artistic research has developed across cultures and disciplines.
Over the years, she has collaborated and exhibited alongside artists such as Pablo Echaurren, Gino Finizio, and Paolo Amoretti.

The exhibition Metamorfosi della Materia (2026) marked an important stage in her evolving research. While some of its themes were later recognized as part of the Inner Landscapes series, her practice continues to evolve toward new forms of abstraction and transformation.
