I made Tree of Memories With ink and acrylic in black and white. The central figure is an abstract face, outlined by the patches of black color that blend to create an effect of fluidity and movement. The contour of the face is intuitive, not sharp; the spots blend together to form the lines that outline the eyes, nose, and mouth. This representation is deliberately abstract, with a face emerging almost casually from the surrounding forms, evoking the image of a tree trunk that is integrated with the human figure. The same spots that give life to the face continue in the trunk of the tree, representing a continuity and fusion of nature and humanity.

I am fascinated by liquid colors because of the way the shapes manifest spontaneously. I let the art unfold, without forcing or trying to control the end result.

As I observe this face merging with the tree, I reflect on my own life, recognizing a pattern in which events and opportunities come unexpectedly, rather than being the result of an active search. Homes and opportunities found me, rather than the other way around. This philosophy of openness and acceptance is reflected in my approach to painting: I value what emerges naturally, rather than trying to dominate the medium.

Thus, in the painting “Tree of Memories,” I embody the idea of carpe diem, valuing every moment and form that life presents.
