Shadow Face

Volto d’Ombra is an abstract portrait where light and darkness merge to give shape to a fleeting and poetic presence. Originally made with ink and acrylic paint on watercolor paper lined with canvas, the face emerges from a fluid dance of blacks, grays and whites, like a memory that resurfaces from deep memory.

The gestural strokes, the stains and the drops speak of a quick and instinctive gesture, capable of capturing emotions and impressions more than features. The shadows suggest the eyes, nose and mouth without ever defining them completely, leaving room for imagination and interpretation.

The original work has been sold or is part of a private collection.
